Blue Skies Consulting is a certified woman-owned small business based at the Belen Alexander Airport (E80) in Belen, NM. Our quality management system is ISO 9001: 2008 certified.

We are New Mexico's premier provider of digital photogrammetric and remote sensing data. We specialize in aerial photography for mapping and surveying applications.

We provide aerial film scanning services using the latest Wehrli and Associates, Inc. photogrammatic scanners in our environmentally controlled scanning facility.

Blue Skies is Adding LiDAR Capabilities

 

Blue Skies has recently acquired a  RIEGAL VQ-580 LiDAR system to add to our ever expanding services. The V-Line Airborne Laser Scanner RIEGL VQ-580 provides high speed, non-contact data acquisition using a narrow near-infrared laser beam and a fast line scanning mechanism. High-accuracy laser ranging is based on RIEGL's unique echo digitalization and online waveform processing, which allows achieving superior measurement results even under adverse atmospheric conditions, and the evaluation of multiple target echoes.

Blue Skies is proud to announce that we are adding drone capabilities to our services. In a world of ever expanding technological capabilities, Blue Skies wants to ensure that we have the ability to provide exceptional services. We will have two commercially licensed remote drone pilots on staff. Our drone services will become available soon.

Flying High with New Mexico Flying 40

 

On Wednesday, June 22, 2016 Blue Skies was among many of New Mexico's technology companies that were recognized at the New Mexico Flying 40 event that was held at the Albuquerque BioPark Zoo. The New Mexico Flying 40 recognizes the state's largest and fastest growing companies in the technology sector according to total revenue and percentage growth in revenues over time.

Farewell Cookout for Retiring Airport Manager, Robert Uecker

 

Friday, May 27 Blue Skies hosted a farewell cookout in honor of retiring airport manager, Robert Uecker. Robert has served the City of Belen as airport manager for 9 years. He has been a wonderful airport manager and a true friend to Blue Skies and he will be missed.

Airport of the Year 2016

 

The Belen Alexander Municipal Airport was recognized as "Airport of the Year 2016" at the New Mexico Airport Managers Association conference that was held in Ruidoso earlier in May.

The Blue Skies Family Continues to Grow

 

Blue Skies welcomes aboard Ethan Lacher and Lindsay Cole. Ethan has rejoined Blue Skies after an internship last summer in the position of Aerial Systems Operator. Lindsay is providing support services for the management and image processing teams.

Blue Skies welcomes aboard Angela Arriaga and Daniel Montoya. Angela and Daniel will be producing quality scanned aerial imagery as our Photogrammetric Scanning Team, specializing in aerial film scanning from post processing through client delivery.

Blue Skies maintains ISO 9001:2008 certification through April 30th, 2017

 

Blue Skies continues to maintain its quality management system to the current ISO standard, which is now ISO 9001:2008. Blue Skies has maintained ISO certification for its aerial mapping services since September 2005.

Blue Skies acquires Wehrli RM-3 aerial film scanner

 

Blue Skies has acquired an additional aerial film scanner. This recent addition is a Wehrli RM-3 scanner, and it will double our aerial film scanning capacity. The Wehrli USB upgrade was promptly purchased and configured to bring the scanning speed up to the level of our existing Wehrli RM-6 scanner.

Blue Skies wins USDA scanning contract

 

Blue Skies was recently awarded a contract from the USDA for scanning of archival aerial film from 1954 to 1992. Blue Skies and five other contractors will scan more than 500,000 frames of color, black-and-white, and color infrared aerial film. Blue Skies’ first task order is for between 43,000 and 48,000 images.

Consulting Geographer added to Blue Skies staff

 

Blue Skies has added Consulting Geographer Dr. Michael Pretes to its team. Michael holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California-Berkeley, an M.A. in Political Science from Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. in Geographical Sciences from the Australian National University. His areas of expertise include economic, political, and historical geography; national parks, natural resource management; Western North America, and Polar and Pacific regions.
