Blue Skies Consulting, LLC, was recently named the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency’s (FSA’s) 2010 Woman-Owned Business Contractor of the Year. The company was nominated by the USDA’s Aerial Photography Field Office in Salt Lake City for "providing outstanding support and service."
Blue Skies specializes in aerial photography and remote sensing for mapping and surveying applications. Its expertise includes primary data acquisition, system integration, and remote sensing applications. Blue Skies employees have more than 30 years experience on projects throughout the United States and in Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America. Its philosophy of performing rigorous quality assurance, providing unsurpassed customer service, and delivering the best products possible has led to exceptional corporate growth: the company has seen a 750% increase in sales revenues since its inception in 1999.
Over the past 10 years, Blue Skies has performed numerous projects for USDA, including acquisition of vertical, high-resolution imagery for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service’s National Resources Inventory (NRI), five national parks and monuments in Colorado and Utah, riparian studies in New Mexico, and a resource management evaluation in California and Nevada.
Blue Skies is a woman-owned small business located at the Belen Alexander Airport in Belen, NM. It is registered as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise with the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program and New Mexico Unified Certification Program. Blue Skies also maintains ISO 9001:2008 certification for its Quality Management System (QMS) using outside auditors to perform annual internal audits and annual surveillance or re-certification reviews.
